Venezuelan government to invest $47.7 million in Guanta Port
Venezuela's government will invest VEF 300 million (USD 47.7m/EUR 36.9m) to modernise the Guanta port in Anzoategui state, national port manager Bolivariana de Puertos (Bolipuertos) said on Saturday.
The state is building a quay necessary for the expansion of Puerto La Cruz oil refinery and is repaving yards and storage facilities. The quay is expected to be built by mid- August. The new quay is an example of the collaboration between state-owned oil company Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) and Bolipuertos, minister of water and air transport Hebert Josue Garcia said during a visit to Guanta.
SCM Lines offers direct service to Guanta every two weeks from Houston, TX and Port Everglades, FL.
